On the occasion of the Euro zone Summit on the problem of the Greek economic crisis and the debt, the Volos Academy for Theological Studies by its Director Dr. Pantelis Kalaitzidis co-signed with other eminent Greek theologians and scholars “A Christian Call in a time of crisis in Europe”, inviting the Churches of Europe to pressure the centers of power towards a Europe based on social solidarity and peaceful coexistence of people. This text was very warmly received by representatives of the major Christian traditions in Europe, and thus translated by the brothers and sisters of the community into Italian. In parallel two other equally important texts by the abbot of the monastic community of Bose (Italy) Fr. Enzo Bianchi (entitled “Greece must stay in Europe” and published in the Italian daily newspaper La Stampa), as well as a response by the Christian initiative Kairos Europa e. V. located in Heidelberg Germany, have also published.
